Figure Discussion Videos

These videos (typically 10 minutes or less) feature Professor Cushwa discussing a textbook figure, followed by review questions and answers. There are more than 250 videos in the 23 chapter modules.

Term Pronunciation Videos

If you can’t correctly pronounce terms, you will likely not remember them or be able to use them confidently.

Meet The Professor Behind The Textbook

William Cushwa, PhD, is a career educator with over 30 years of combined teaching experience at the high school, community college, and university levels. In 2015, he decided to eliminate student textbook costs in his Human Biology course by compiling an OER textbook with OpenStax resources. Based on the positive feedback from other instructors and students, he embarked on a two-year project to compile a more comprehensive textbook (Human Biology - An Introduction to the Body’s Organization, Structure, and Function), that provides a no-cost alternative to traditional publisher options.

Biology411.com was established in 2023 to make this textbook available to students and various resources available to instructors who adopt it. Knowing that most Human Biology students will benefit from additional learning and assessment resources, Dr. Cushwa also created companion student resources to help students like you solidify their understanding.

Equip yourself with everything you need to excel in your human biology course.
